Description:
“Blackbeard’s Shadow” was released in 2017 and depicts a scene located on Bald Head Island on the North Carolina coast of three of the most recognizable landmarks, the historic Captain Charlie’s Cottages. These 112-year-old cottages are still operational today. These historic cottages remind us of the simpler times. These cottages accompanied The Cape Fear Lighthouse. The lighthouse was decommissioned and demolished in 1958 but the cottages near to the lighthouse remained.
The cottages actually have names; Captain Charlie’s I, II, and III, named after Captain Charlie Swan, the lighthouse keeper.
Bob has painted different views of these cottages on a few releases.
