Pride in the Carolinas was painted to honor the environmental groups of Keep North Carolina Beautiful and Keep South Carolina Beautiful. Both are divisions of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. The painting depicts Dogwood blossoms (the North Carolina State flower) and Carolina Wrens ( the South Carolina State bird). Dogwoods are always a welcomed sight, a promise of Easter and summer's warm weather.
